Safety
Stay safe from fraud
A few simple habits keep your money and account safe.
SmartEasyPay will never ask for your OTP, UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV, card number or passwords, by phone, SMS, email, WhatsApp or social media. Anyone who asks is not from us.
Common scams
Fake support calls
Someone calls saying they are from SmartEasyPay, your bank or your operator, and asks for an OTP to "fix" a refund. Hang up. Refunds never need an OTP.
Payment links and QR codes
Scanning a QR code or approving a UPI request is for paying money, never for receiving it. Do not approve requests you did not start.
Screen-sharing apps
Never install a screen-sharing or remote-access app because a caller asks you to. It lets them see your OTPs and PINs.
Bill disconnection threats
Messages saying your electricity will be cut tonight unless you call a number are a common scam. Check your bill in the app or with your biller.
Too-good offers
Messages promising cashback or lots of coins if you share details or pay a "fee" are fake. Real offers are in the app.
Fake apps and sites
Download SmartEasyPay only from the official store link on this website.
Good habits
- Keep a screen lock on your phone and do not leave it unlocked with others.
- Check the number, operator and amount before every payment.
- Check your signed-in devices in the app now and then, and sign out any you do not recognise.
- Only call support numbers listed on this website or in the app, not numbers from search ads or social media.
- Keep the app updated from the official store.
If you think you have been defrauded
Secure your account
Sign out all other devices from the app. If your SIM stopped working unexpectedly, contact your operator.
Tell your bank
Call your bank or card issuer to block your card or UPI and dispute the transaction.
Report cyber fraud
Call the national cyber crime helpline 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in as soon as possible.
